1. how can i wire in my msd6al box w/o having the duraspark ignition?
2. with the msdbox(if possible) can i use it with the stock 85 distributor i have?
3. what wires do i have to splice into to make this work?
4. if there is any other suggestions you may have ill take all the advice i can get.
I have owned this car for 5 yrs but im not familiar with the wiring aspect. just trying to build a strip/street car and im struck in this rut. thanks alot matthew h.

Sorry, I haven’t checked on this site for a couple of weeks.
The 6AL will replace the Duraspark. You just need to find the wire that runs from the ignition switch to the Duraspark and re-route it to the 6AL. The Duraspark is history. Your 6AL install instructions will show all of this in detail.
I believe the ’85 distributor is a 2 wire. You just need to locate a switched source to power the dizzy.

My suggestion is to not attempt the conversion unless you have basic wiring skills. You can do most everything with a test light, but need some idea what makes everything work, and how to go about what it is you’re trying to do.
Maybe you have a buddy that can help?

Sorry I don’t have specific wire colors or location. I looked for available power sources as needed, and eliminated anything that no longer had a use.

Good luck!
