They could've shown Kara's doctor too. And even after the ship was destroyed, there should be enough debris -- so to speak -- for them to forensically identify at least more than the Model 6/Gine series of human-cylon. Indeed, we saw many bodies fly out of the ship before it detonated. And even after detonation, there was substantial debris around.

Anyway, on the subject of downloading, it seems clear that there are both post-mortem downloading and update-downloadings that happen from time to time. Otherwise, how could Caprica Boomer know about and have remnant feelings for the Chief given that it was Galactica Sharron that had the relationship with the Chief?

This makes for a rather complicated kind of personal identity, especially as evidenced by Caprica Boomer.

On the one hand, it is often held that memory is identity (psychological criterion of identity). If the Sharrons share memories occasionally (synch up), then you might think that over time there is only a single Sharron. Granted, she has the interesting feature of bodily co-location and a smearing of experiences due to the spatial co-locality and occasional synching. But she's a cylon, and this might not be any weirder for them than our various social roles with their various and interrupted psychological continuities are integrated in us.

On the other hand, you might think that the greater the amount of time there is between memory synching, the greater the divergence between instances of the cylon. So, take the Sharron Model cylon. By all appearances, Caprica-Sharron (Helo's anyway) seems to have forsaken the cylon agenda and defected. This may not be exactly true -- I actually suspect she still shares the Cylon agenda in the large, though she now disagrees about the details of its execution (if you'll forgive genocidal puns). But, at any rate, she seems to have stopped synching. Certainly, she no longer seems to be updating, and her aberrant attitudes have not been reset by later updates/reintegration into the larger Sharron identity. So, what may have been at one time been a mere instance of Cylon model Sharron (Caprica-Helo Instance) may now be better parsed as a new person/identity altogether: Boomer.
