Sounds really cool. Especially the Grand Canyon tour, I've never been and always wanted to go (especially after seeing last month's pictoral spread in National Geographic).

I'm actually going to Vegas for the 1st time in March. My friend's getting married this summer, and about 10 of us are going for his bachelor party (for three days).

And maybe Europe this summer. Possibly Scandanavia. My in-laws' business had a good year last year, and so they are talking about taking my wife and I and her sister & her boyfriend for a couple of weeks. Don't know for sure yet (just found this out a week or so ago), but it's looking very good. There's no way we could afford to do this ourselves, so it's totally contingent on their whims.

I went to Niagara Falls last summer, and when I was there I stayed in a hotel bwcause the baby was small. While I was there I booked a camping spot for this year, so I'm booked for August. (far planned in advance, but it has a year long waiting list)

My mother has relatives in Massachusetts and one of them is getting married, but I'll need to wait to decide later if I'm going.

I'm going with my sons class on a field trip on Friday. We're going snow tubing. Does that count?

this year may be very exciting. none of these are set in stone as in bought and paid for yet, but i'll put them in order of likeliness.

i plan to go to that writing conference again at esalen in big sur, CA with the cool hot tubs.

also plan to go the national albinism conference. they have it every other year and this time it's in minnesota. a couple of us who were there last time and stayed up all night partying talked about going early and staying at this dude's cabin for a couple days.

considering going to coachella at the end of april in indio, CA. must decide soon. tix go onsale in less than two weeks.

if tool tours, i will travel...not for the whole thing, but pob at least to the portland, seattle and vancouver shows on my end, and i'd love to see them w/leo so who knows.

when i finish my book(s) i'm going to ireland, but i don't think that will be this year.

wow i'm going to be broke!!! my biggest worry is that if i am a full-time member of the saturday market this year w/my tarot readings, i will have to miss a few weekends for some of this stuff, so there will have to be some figuring and balancing.

I'm trying not to think $ wise...because travelling is important. Gulp.

Chrys - does your aunt still live in Hudson?

Anyone see that chick on American Idol last night that said she was going to be a star because 10 of her psychic friends told her so? LOL.

I ain't scared. They're probably already tapping my phone lines since my boyfriend fell for that lottery scam and the "terrorist" keeps calling him. They're about 30/45 minutes away.

They're tapping everyone's phone lines.

In fact, they're reading this right now!

Leave me alone, FBI! Take this internet and shove it up your ass!

I hate you! I never want to see you again!

!!!!!!!!

speaking of phone tapping, i was watching the verdicts on alito's confirmation. ten to eight in favor, split STRAIGHT down party lines. jon shumer (sp?) gave a great speech, that actually intelligently addressed a lot of issues. can't say the same for coryn who went next, but that is all i watched. i don't trust alito one bit...

sorry off topic

somehow my issues of national geographic disappear into my 12 year old's room never to be seen again, on the pretense of using them for articles for school, then she accuses me of stealing them from her!

anyway, i believe that train ride was mentioned in the article too. I'm jealous, the girls and i talked about doing that someday.

I'm considering coachella too, just have to work out the practicalities with the kiddies. and a west coast tool tour is definitely in the cards for me!!!

originally i thought i was going to egypt this summer, but the pyramids will have to wait.

I do need a relatively cheap and short trip with the girls. Any suggestions? It sucks having only 2 weeks vacation time, needing to save some for their days off from school, wanting to go away on my own, and fitting in a vacation with them as well, and not just a trip to grandmas.

Charleston, SC. The Holiday Inn that's right on Foley Beach is not expensive and EVERY room has an ocean view. It's not a great hotel, but you can't ask for more than being on the beach. Plus there's alot to do in Charleston or you could just walk it and spend nothing! There's an awful lot of history and stuff I think you'd like there. :)

Leo - are you a camper?

If so, I can't recommend the Seneca Rocks/Spruce Knob area in West Virginia highly enough. Absolutely beautiful. I think it's a good 6 hour drive from Philly, though.

I wouldn't mind camping, but I would be nervous I'd fuck up something. I do like the mountains, I've been to the Peaks of Otter and Little Switzerland. Of course I love the beach too. The girls and I were talking about going somewhere we'd never been. Maine came up, but thats a very long drive. 6 hours I can do.
