Well, I think they may not have found him guilty for the actual murder. Considering there was never any evidence to prove he killed anyone, but they were all tried together with the notion they all took a part in the deaths. (if that makes sense)
I don't think the drug issue would be any different, because nowadays the drugs that make people crazy enough to murder are like Crystal Meth. So I think the Manson gang were on speed too.
I think Charles Manson is just as crazy today and I am happy they didn't put him in a Prison for the crimanally insane, because then his chances for release would be there. If he could prove that he was rehabilitated they would put him back out into society. So now everytime he goes up for parole he has the victims families stopping it.

I sold a bunch of my books at a garage sale and one of the books I sold was Charles Manson In His Own Words, and I wish I never did, because I would have sent it to you. He is the most fucked up individual on the planet and believe me in someway he is guilty as sin for those murders.

The thing about Manson, is he never took any responsibilty for the murders. He always denied his involvement and always put the blame on society. He's also a sociopath and an egomaniac. He wanted to be famous, I think.

Oh - I know he's crazy. He was up for parole when I was pregnant and I watched all the specials and had horrible vivid scary nightmares. It is a good thing he's locked up. I just wonder though if it happened in today's world, how differently things would have turned out. OJ's walking. You know?
