Subject: signed my first lease today

it looks like i won't actually move till saturday, after tool tickets are purchased, but the apartment, my first apartment ever, is mine and i have the keys in my pocket! up until now i've always had a room in a house or something of that nature, but now this little space - a bedroom, kitchen, closet, bathroom, living room, will be all mine.

agreeing to a one-year contract was a little scary. i don't think i have stayed in any one house that long since i first started college over six years ago. i'm a little nervous about that sort of commitment, but oh well.

oh and if i cook pot cookies i'll get evicted, i think that's about all i really retained from my hour+ of signing shit. that and i can't harbor felons. oh yeah and they have some no foul language policy, let's see how long till i break that rule...i give it maybe a minute?

anyway, it's super exciting. at the same time, there is so much crap i need to get that i hardly even thought about cuz i'm so used to houses w/shared kitchens, or when i worked at the camp, having access to a commercial kitchen. now i gotta get pans, spatulas, silverware, a toaster, and on and on, even stuff like cleaning supplies, sponges, a broom, a vaccuum cleaner, blah. how much do vaccuum cleaners usually cost? i don't have the foggiest idea.

on the other hand, i have a cool boy who's looking out at this place called the exchange for anything i might need for the new place, a cool friend who is moving too and who says ihave first dibs on her yardsale, and a friend who is miraculously getting rid of a reeeally nice and comfortable couch and looking to give it a new home.

i'm so stoked!!!

Oh man! That's really exciting Chrys!! It's great to have your own apartment!!

Saturday is a good day for moving. Sun already into Taurus-- stability, right? ;)

I just moved again too....last two days in fact. Bigger place....yeah I have some stupid rules that I need to abide by as well. Like I have to pay $25 per night if I have someone stay over for more than two nights in a row! I mean what is that? It doesn't matter I do not have people stay with me much but man isn't that what I am paying for?

No foul language policy though I would be a goner for sure!

Congrats on your first place that you can call your own....it is pretty cool.

You'll love your own private space!

The first day I got my own apartment (a zillion years ago) I walked around naked for 2 days just because I could. It was uncomfortable though...so that didn't last long. Plus, eww. Who wants to sit on furniture that some naked ass sat on? Point being, the freedom is awsome! :)

YEAH, Chrys! I remember my first apartment after the hubby and I got married. It really is a blast!! Have fun decorating and making it your own.

Congratulations! Just think how fun it will be to have a small get together.

If I lived close by I would have brought you a plant for housewarming.

Oh and you know that the Dollar store has really good kitchen utensils and some of the practical stuff you need. I never buy that stuff anywhere else anymore, I think it's a rip off. The $store has such good stuff (atleast mine does)
