Subject: How far away from the beach do togs become undies?
I was walking into a shop on the way home from the beach a few weeks back, wearing my board shorts and little black triangle top, when the words of a commercial selling ice cream suddenly came into my head.
"How far away from the beach do togs become undies?"
In the ad, the guy is wearing....you guessed it.......speedos!![also known here as Budgie Smugglers]
As he walks across the road from the beach, the voice over goes- togs, togs, togs, togs.....undies!! [As a truck behind him blots out the beach]
According to the ad, if you can't see the beach they're undies.
So are other forms of swimming gear as offensive as Speedos or what? How far from the beach can you safety wear your swimsuit?
Thoughts?..........

The people in Florida got so offended by the french-canadian snowbirds wearing speedos, they bannned them. I think speedos are definetly the only offensive garment at the beach. I'm not offended by body types and thongs, but I am offended by someone stuffing their packages into a tiny swimsuit. I've seen some men walking around in a speedo with their pubic hair hanging out the sides. yuck

Just mentioning the beach right now is killing me. My furnace has been broken all weekend and I won't have it fixed until tomorrow. I've been living with electric spaceheaters and the oven on and open. I've gotten the temperature up to a balmy 22!
I love the beach and can't wait for the summer.

I went to a kid's indoor waterpark resort a couple years ago. There were these 2 English guys that were very very uncomfortable! They must have booked the vacation not knowing it was a place for kids. They both had on Speedos and were walking around cringing from the sharp looks and surroundings. My son and his friend, who had never seen Speedos before, stopped and starred at these two guys. It was just awful - I felt so bad for them! Two grown men in tiny Speedos at a kid's resort is kinda bad!
As far as beachwear, I think you should look at the suit you wear like a kid would. If you would tramatize a kid - you have the wrong suit. And as far as how far away you can wear them - I say cover it up. No one wants strange exposed ass cheeks sitting on their chairs.

Taurus....."togs" are an Australian and New Zealand all purpose term for swimwear!
They actually banned Speedos in Florida?!!LOL.
So do the police come around and enforce the ban?.....

They have signs on certain beaches that say NO SPEEDOS.
Anyone caught wearing one will be shot on site!

No I'm serious, I heard about it on the news. In my search for pics I found those ones, but I don't know if they are a joke or not. I think the first one with the man and the woman looks Japanese(Asian), and you know how discreet they are.
