I'm still reading The Sex Life of Cannibals. It's a blast - if you like travel narratives - you've got to read this one. Some interesting facts, too, about the islands on the equator. I've been slow at reading it - not because it's bad but because I've just been really busy.

I was at Barnes & Noble the other day (which I don't like. I'm a Borders girl) because my son is finally reading for ENJOYMENT! I told him it didn't matter how broke I might be, if he wanted to read a book we'd get him one. I've been waiting for YEARS for him to want to read on his own. Anyhow, they have all these classic reprints pretty cheep. I also picked up The Art of War (that Quixote told me to read) and The Awakening and can't wait to read either.

My list is still long. It seems like everytime I finish one, someone mentions another I have to add!

What are ya'll reading?

I'm going to go and try and find "The Learning Tree". Now that I've heard so much about it, because the author Gordon Parks died and it's been on the news. Anyone ever read it, I remember along time ago, Madonna said it was her favourite book.

Off topic:
Did you know that Anderson Cooper on CNN is Gloria Vanderbilts son? That's a good bio "Little Gloria, Happy Atlast" she was good friends with Mr.Parks.

I'm still reading the same four books (rare that I read more than one at a time, and I think I'm going to stop doing that because I'm not seeming to get through any of them).

The Stars, My Destination by Alfred Bester (SF)
The Hero With A Thousand Faces by Joseph Campbell (non-fiction)
The People's History of the United States by Howard Zinn (non-fiction)
Looking for Jake by China Mieville (short story collection)

Well, right now I'm reading The Case for Christ by Lee Strobel. It's a really good read. Strongly recommended.

Jen - I've also got an ADD book going - I can't remember the name (what does that tell you) but it's the second book by that Hollewell guy who came up with the hunter/farmer theory. Have you noticed that these books are never quick to get through and they repeat themselves alot? LOL! It's like "You bought this book - we're going to make sure you get it!" I buy part of his theory. I don't believe it's a disorder at all. Anyhow, I almost always have some sort of parenting book going in the background!

Fried chicken?
