Subject: International Audioslave Cover Band

Hey guys,

(You may have seen this on AS.COM)

For me this is more a cool example of what the internet has made possible - myself and a couple of guys off the Audioslave forum have recorded a version of Doesn't Remind Me from the relative comfort of our bedrooms/studies in different countries of the world. I think it turned out quite good for what it is.

Tom (Wannabtimmyc) has started up a myspace page for you to listen to the stuff that we record so feel free to drop in and say g'day.

http://www.myspace.com/internationalaudioslavetributeband

I think they're asking for suggestions for the next cover version and what we should call oursleves.

peace,
Christian

You should call yourselves The Argyle Socks.

1.It's an original name
2.You could start a fashion trend
3.I like the name

Hey, Christian, is that you singing on there?

If so, you got a decent voice, my man. I think it's really a cool thing you guys did.

I would have liked to listen to it, but I can never get the page. Everytime I get an error or something else. *shrugs*

There I go, I heard it and you sound really good Christian, but who singing backup on the chorus, it almost sounds like Cornell?

haha,

Yeah Chris dropped over for a cuppa and I got him to lay down some backing vox while he was here....

I wish...

Nah all the vocals were me. Lead, backing in the chorus and the high backing in the 2nd verse. The backing vox were easy because they are right in the range where I'm most comfortable.

peace,
Christian

Hey TG,

I was thinking of doing Fell on Black Days or Mailman...

What do you think?

Sorry to read about myspace booting you off, C. Have you tried to contact them for an explanation yet? Are you gonna take up Bill on his offer?

I got the track off your website and thought it was great. I like it better than the original-- more real, more human. A true classic rock (in the best sense) feel to the chorus gives it more spirit and soul. Not in love with the guitar solo, but I could say the same for Tom's. Your singing is really great on this. You actually do sound similar to Chris here, but I'll dare add your voice sounds more in touch and vital than his does on this song.

name: International Idol

song: if it's a choice between FOBD and Mailman I'd go for the latter. I think Seether covered FOBD during the last AS tour, and in general it seems more (as in too) obvious for a cover. Maybe something less known might be more interesting like earlier work or a b-side. Fresh Deadly Roses? Or one of my faves, Kyle Petty?

Or write your own songs. You could probably write upwards of 22 songs in 19 days... when you become fast and efficient;)
