okay so this is a take off of something lump said on another thread, when she asked if i see auras. tere seem to be a lot of intuitive people on this site so i'm wondering, how do you all get your psychic information? do you see things like auras? do you have prophetic dreams? do you "hear" it i have a friend who's convinced it always comes through one of the five senses, but i am not so sure. it's not easy to describe, but if you had to, how would you?

I'm useless. I have no superpowers! :) I think I'll be Pee-Wee from the Mystery Men! lol.
I have things here and there that happen - like physically hearing things (I posted about that) - but that's rare. I'm pretty in tune to people - like you - I can see the hidden meaning most of the time and hear the mood behind "I'm fine. How are you?" But it's not extraordinary at all.
I believe I have potential for much more, but I close those doors on purpose. I don't think I could balance anything more than what I have already put on my plate.

i also see that potential for you. just from stuff you have posted over the years.
also you have had some ghostly experiences, so maybe you have some sort of connection that is otherworldy.

Yes I can be rather intuitive and it's not always good. I usually can predict when something bad is going to happen or when the shit is going to hit the fan. It's like a gut feeling. I even kinda predicted the CCforum being shut down. I'm also a pretty good judge of character and I can always warn myself when someone/something isn't right and more times than not my predictions are accurate.
I used to do tarot before and my son actually found my cards the other day and asked me if they were for fortune telling. LOL I was also really interested in astrology and would always read my horoscope on a regular basis and do my chart.

I haven't been as intuitive in the past few months, too busy. Which I think is a large reason most people never fully realize that "sixth sense".
Mine do come through my dreams as you all know. I also think its just a feeling most of the time. I have also had those forum experiences Chrys spoke of on the other thread, knowing who fake names were and if not, who they definitely were not, and /or what the message truly meant. I always thought of that as just being totally aware of the person involved though, but I guess it does qualify as psychic because of the absence of any physical qualities.
I've been feeling pretty wacky yesterday and today however. Does anyone think its possible that a chance meeting or experience can turn it up a notch? Like a psychic inspiration?

Leo - I think so. If I "open the doors" I get all kinds of weird shiznitz going on. I hear things, I see things. I definately FEEL things. So I keep the doors closed. But just by doing something like watching Ghosthunters or looking up other ghost history walks (which I'm still planning on doing in my area) is enough to open the door. I would guess that meeting someone - or anything actually - can trigger those doors open.

They come through any of the SIX sences. I know people that physically feel emotions, others that hear things continuously, others are good at seeing.
I have a general ability to feel places (lay lines, "fung shui", whatever you might call it). I could tell you where best to plant that new tree you just picked up, or whether the house you are looking at has positive or negative baggage. And I often see things out of the corner of my eyes (my two eyes that is) like phantom cats running around my house. But my favorite thing to do and develop is 3rd eye sight. Using the 3rd eye to "listen" to trees is a fun excercise. I'm not very profficient yet, but the few experiences I have had were incredible and now I know what to look for.

Iymlad - I totally know what you mean about checking out a houses baggage. I do that constantly. In fact, when I bought my own house, there was another that was alot nicer and cheaper. It was brick and had a stone fireplace and newer garage. But it felt bad. Not evil bad - just malicious bad. So I got my current house instead - though it's not empty - it's kind. And to be completely honest, I suspect that something horrible happened at my house about 20 years ago, but there's rarely ever a negative feel to it. My son does have a friend though who refuses to spend the night because he's afraid of my house. So I think it just depends on who you are. Anyhow, I know what you mean and I do that too. :)

Long, long time ago, in a lifetime that seems eons away I used to have prophetic dreams. If I still do, I must be totally ignoring them.
My mom passed away quite a while ago now, but a few months before her passing I dreamed about the exact set of events that followed shortly after her death. My mother passed away suddenly while I was away on a short trip between Christmas and New Years. I was her on Christmas day, and when I came back she was gone. In the dream I had quite a while before her passing I would be the one to pack up her belongings. In the dream there were two things I could not have known. First, it was at Christmas time. Second, I was sitting under the Christmas tree, and going through my mother’s purse where I found some ICHANG coins. I had no idea she had those or knew what they were, because I don’t think I did. But in the dream I found Asian coins and there was a Christmas tree, and my mom was dead.
After that time I had one or two other dreams that seemed to predict things. It’s been many years now and I don’t think I have ever had another.
So fast forward to where I am now.
Some of you know that a few years back I started getting what I will call “random emotions” from people. These people can be those close to me, or total strangers. Most of the time this is so subtle it can be explained away as just a really good sense of people (which I know for a fact I have), other times I puck up things I would seemingly have no way of knowing. For example while out shopping I suddenly felt an overwhelming sense of terror from someone. I tried to ignore it because sometimes that is all I can do not to go kinda bonkers. I did mention it to my husband while there. When I got to the checkout counter it got stronger and I knew someone was about to break. When it was my turn to pay the cashier broke into tears right in front of me. She has some marks on her arms which I would come to find was from a who some time before I got in line went nuts and assaulted her and cut her. I never found out if he was trying to rob the place. But for some reason the manager made this poor girl go back and ring people up. He couldn’t sense that she was extremely rattled from her experience. So after helping some more customers she just totally lost it.
I don’t have any reasonable way to explain why I felt that from the girl way before I was anywhere near the check out. I don’t think I heard a sound, but I could have. I did mention to my husband what I was feeling.
I have really no control over this at all and it comes and goes at will. It’s hard to know what it is and still half the time I ask myself if I am making it all up. But then, if I am anyplace near a child/teen who is upset I always know it even before I see there is a child near me. Younger people tend to freely experience the depth of their emotions, so they particularly pull me in.
I’d say there must be something to it, even if it’s nothing more than a super heightened sense of emotional awareness of others. Well actually I think it’s that no matter what. I don’t find it incredible to think its just part of our human senses we left behind when intellect and communication took over.
