James Blunt............
Anyone here into James Blunt? For those out of the loop, he is similar to Damien Rice on'Blower's Daughter' [which is the only Damien Rice song I have heard]
My daughter wanted the CD for Xmas, and I've got into it since then. The song 'No Bravery' sends shivers down my spine. So topical for the state of the world today.
And I like 'Goodbye My Lover' too.
No Bravery
There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
Tears drying on their face.
He has been here.
Brothers lie in shallow graves.
Fathers lost without a trace.
A nation blind to their disgrace,
Since he's been here.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
Houses burnt beyond repair.
The smell of death is in the air.
A woman weeping in despair says,
He has been here.
Tracer lighting up the sky.
It's another families' turn to die.
A child afraid to even cry out says,
He has been here.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.
There are children standing here,
Arms outstretched into the sky,
But no one asks the question why,
He has been here.
Old men kneel and accept their fate.
Wives and daughters cut and raped.
A generation drenched in hate.
Yes, he has been here.
And I see no bravery,
No bravery in your eyes anymore.
Only sadness.

I've only heard one song, and it makes me want to kill people.
"You're beautifaal, it's true"

Well, that's some amazing art if it inspires homicide.
Can I choose who you kill?
I'll send you a short list.

"You're beautifaal, it's true"
Are you sure that's not Antony & The Johnsons?

It's James Blunt. At the ccforum there was a thread about annoying songs. I thought the one video of the guy removing his shirt while singing "you are beautiful" was annoying and Angel pointed out that it was james Blunt.
Amadaun isn't going to like this too much. lol

You're right, I'm confused.
I saw his video and got it confused with the Antony & the Johnsons one.
The James Blunt one is just him taking off his clothes in a snow storm and jumping off a big white precipice into the ocean, right?

Right,I usually change the channel when I see it; but who the hell is Antony and the Johnsons?
you don't have to answer that.

Antony & the Johnsons is basically one guy/lady (he's a transvestite - I'm not quite sure the pronoun ettiquite there) who is a musician with this incredibly angelic voice. I'm not too into his music (well, the one song I heard, which is a duet with Boy George), but his voice is amazing.
Let me find a link, if you're curious:

Awww yeah I was curious and I went and googled it. Thanks!
I saw there was a song called Secretly Canadian. LOL
I did notice there were a few duets including Boy George (who I love). I'm surprised I never heard of him, because i usually watch Bravo videos that show music of that genre.

Yeah, I agree the Beautifaal song has been thrashed a bit too much on the radio, but it doesn't detract from the rest of the album. I guess its the kind of music [and voice] that you immediately either like, or dislike.
Some of the lyrics are amusing too.
Like Wise Men......
"When they came down from Heaven,
Smoked nine 'til seven,
All the shit that they could find,"
