As a Kawasaki sport bike rider of over 30 years, I have just shocked my dear wife by adding a 1994 XII rig to the stable so she can join me in the fun of riding motorcycles and our membership to Norcal is in the mail! We live in Ben Lomond, California, which is only a few miles from the Santa Cruz beach.
Being somewhat of an anal retentive kind of guy, I keep my bikes in top form and am currently going "stem to stern" on my Voyager to get 'er ready for this summer. One thread I ran across on the web talks of the speedometer reading 5 mph too high which could be corrected by changing certain parts. Anyone done this mod and have some advice?
Second Question: Why is the Superbrace superior to the stock fork brace? I have long understood the concept of a fork brace from my experience with early sport bikes, yet from what little I can tell the Superbrace is very similar to the stock unit so I am hesitant to spend the Franklin+ for the new unit. Any before & after comments?
Are there any other suggestions you’all might have for a newbie to the Voyager XII?
