I was never really into the pulps much, but some people were very interested. Many of yesteryears pulp fans have left us, and material (if any)possibly left from their collections are sometimes discarded, or offered by offspring on sources like ebay. (Remember, these "pulps" were fragile and on cheap paper decades ago.) Prices and condition vary widely, so shop, and check various sellers. Do not overlook local comic book retailers...they often carry pulps as well, and you can physically examine. Many pulps which survived are likely deteriorating in peoples attics, storage sheds, etc so, if you're interested, ask around. Location and storage methods were important.

I met a fellow in a fast food chain, about my age..had some chit chat waiting in line, found he was interested in aviation hobbies of interest like me. We became friends in a way...small world. Someday, I might be elsewhere, strike up small talk, and the person might be a Flash Gordon fan! Who knows.

The pulp era was before my time, comic books were the big thing when I was a kid. Pulps were dominant from the 1920s (if not earlier) to around the 1950s I guess.

No one likes standing in fast food lines, but running into a fellow Flash Gordon or Universal fan there would certainly make it more fun!

Hey, ya never know...and be sure to ask around at the recently announced Mingoween Party in the caves. See the updates section for earthdate 9/29/11 in a post a few down from here. (Mongo News section) Save up those Mingols for your admission tickets, fine foods, and know that Ming's Fine Gift Shoppe will have a large annex booth set up, with a variety of novelties and gifts, plus special items to mark this occasion.
