Chute...I don't recall for sure. Money was tight and going to the theater was rare for me, but a few times during those 3 or 4 hour kid show Saturdays, I likely saw a few chapters, on a hit or miss basis. Most of the FG "stuff" I saw was on a 14 inch Philco TV at home sometime during early 50s I think. I was hooked, and these serials were on all kinds of kid shows in the NY area back then. Often as fill in material for some hosted show along with cartoons, puppets, etc. Then, I think Buster Crabbe hosted some kind of serial theater thing, don't recall when...but these serials stopped on TV, maybe sometime in the 60s here (not sure) and didn't show up until PBS showed them a few times around 1980. It took another decade to see them on VHS tape. Always made it a point to take a break from playing stickball or whatever as a kid to see our hero battling Ming and his minions. Needless to say perhaps, as an adolescent boy, I had the hots for characters Dale Arden and Princess Aura. Me and a zillion other guys my age I guess.

Easy one for me, it was in 2008, after being introduced to the amazing world of Flash Gordon by Commander Rick and Officer Torch, two of the finest FG fans this side of Mars or Mongo!
