Subject: May 25, 1977: 'Star Wars' premieres

32 years ago, the film was released and it changed the movie industry overnight. It opened the door for science-fiction and fantasy genres. Many years later, it spawned three prequels that were well-deserved.

A milestone event in motion picture history, one that will not likely be repeated. An imaginative and exciting movie ride that in many ways revived and embraced the unbridled spirit of adventure found in the outer space serials of an earlier era, particularly the Flash Gordon classics.
