1)Rocketship sound effects;

a. the crackling/firecracker like sounds at takeoff
b. the buzzing/humming sound in flight(some indicated
sound was from an early Shick electric razor.)
c. the rocketships firing, and any aerial battles.

2)Electrical Apparatus...electromechanical sounds

a) the crackling, humming devices, Tesla coils, noise from sparking/spinning machinery.
b) zapping sounds..as though lightning.

3)Weaponry firing and hits..the sounds employed using rayguns, pistol or rifle type mostly, or Zarkov invention type.

4)Clash from lightning, noises from devices which fire sparks.

The sound department was brilliant for its day. Some sounds were also in Universal horror movies...perhaps came from them as well.
Note: Regarding rocketship sounds, also on subway in FGTTM and BR, for decades I assumed sounds either buzzing transformers or muffled piston engines since an audience of the day might better relate to prop aircraft sounds than rockets. Two or three forum members in the past felt sure about a specific electric razor! In making some checks, seems there was an electric Shick early on. Perhaps not widely used, but available. There's a hint of this sound also in The Phantom Empire from destroying ray which runs amok in Murania at the end. Any opinions?
