Buster Crabbe (as Flash Gordon) fighting just about anyone or any monster kinda thing, was always impressive to me...the movements, the facial gestures, the style I guess. When I was a kid, and FG serials were a staple on kid shows in the Fifties, much time was spent outdoors for recreation, aside from TV maybe and some very basic toys. Stickball, flipping picture cards, rock-scissors-paper, punchball, Duncan Yo-Yo contests, AND make believe swordfighting using scrapwood sticks. (I think Barin experienced likewise.)

A couple or small bunch of us kids would get together, and try to simulate FG battles and combat. We'd try hard to imitate this Flash Gordon guy we saw on TV...hmm, no way, the guy on TV was just too good....with his agility, style, gestures, etc. Many of us obviously recall to this day...decades later, something I imagine (and hope) will keep such serials alive and great sites like this going. Yeah Rick, Buster did a great job in the scenes.

In a way, I guess it up to people like us to pass such classics down to future generations as best as we can
