Yes, I've been told that my nephew Capt.Torch had some interesting missions with Sonja. I understand the adventures are on a serial entitled Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe, last in the trilogy.

Sonja is an attendant for Princess Aura, but a spy for Ming. She's also a trouble maker, instigator, liar, killer, but she's also a flirtatious very attractive lady. In this serial, Anne Gwynne played the bad girl, Sonja.

Actually, Anne Gwynne was vivacious, popular and intelligent....too bad time ran out before that interview she would have given not long ago.

In the serial, we see her briefly in Chap 2 at Barin's castle in Arboria as Aura's "attendant" and people of Mongonian and earth reknown are present. She overhears of plans to mine polarite to save the earth from "the purple death" sent by order of Ming. She says Ming will know of this. (Early on, we know she is a spy.)

We don't see her until Chap 6 when Ming sends a message via bird...the message is written in invisible ink but she can make it readable. It says to take Princess Aura to a place for abduction. Ming was sending bombers to Arboria and didn't want his daughter in the conflagration.

So as not to write an essay here, let's say Sonja had many scenes in the last half of serial, maybe close to Dale's!? She had many with Capt Torch it seems, and both played their parts well.

Sonja played a flirtatious prisoner with Flash, but he knew better. She escaped Barin's prison by foiling a palace guard that she was hanging herself, then shot him dead with his own ray gun. She seemed to be a favorite of Ming. There's plenty on this site or links if you'd like to check the bio/filmography, etc of Anne Gwynne.

By the way, nephew Capt Torch, Sonja, others (not likely Ming though) perished (???) when weapon loaded Z-O ship plowed into the Tower Control Room where they were (and locked in by Capt Sudan, loyal to Prince Barin).
