Subject: The Prisoner of Mongo

I have watched Flash Gordon's Trip to Mars though chapter 7, and am enjoying it a great deal. A number of new inventions and gadgets have been introduced, and my favorite so far is the light bridge.

In chapter 3 we meet the Clay King and learn the source of Azura's magic. Flash Gordon saves Azura's life, but the devious Queen shows little gratitude, still agreeing to allow Ming to have Flash and Zarkov executed.

Chapter 3 also has our heroes back in exotic alien/outer space garb, although Dale's costume appears a bit more modest than what she wore in Flash Gordon '36.

Other significant events include the introduction of the Forest People and the return of the noble Prince Barin. This first half of the serial has provided an enjoyable Trip to Mars, and I look forward to the second half of the journey.

Sergeant Tim
