I agree with you guys, and then some. Political references, yes. Religious overtones also perhaps, certainly war, UFOlogy maybe, doomsday, symbolism galore. Interestingly, in FG, issues of all sorts can be found in ARs comics and the serials! Books could be written analyzing this stuff.

In '40 serial CTU, predominately air stike oriented, some pretty nasty weaponry overall, often military looking outfits/gear, Frigia? or possible reference to The Winter War in '39..in Finland's arctic cold. In my opinion, the '40 serial was much different than '36 and '38 serials. The earlier two were moreso for entertainment in my opinion. Roman garb available, idols, sparking machines, unhuman monsters, lots of mythology, etc.
Maybe we can chat about that eagle symbol..found in ARs comics and '36 serial above Vultan's throne (on Mongo), hmm..I thought an earth symbol mostly often used throughout ages, by us, some people of China, others..even Hitler! (Or might some of these birds depicted be interpreted as the Phoenix?) The '40 serial though seemed a bit prophetic to me. Gettin' deep. Who knows...but it can be interesting contemplating. Back to today, here on earth.

Today is Veteran's Day. We salute our brave men and women who serve to protect us and democracy, also the Veterans among us, and we honor those gallant warriors who paid the ultimate price. Our thoughts, and prayers are with you, and yours, on this day and always.

A salute to Officer Torch for reminding us all to remember our veterans! I'll never be able to express my gratitude to them! Thanks for the blessings of liberty that the serials remind to cherish.

I thank every member of this forum, Rick and Tony, for giving me a place to speak about our heroes (Real and Fictional)

Thanks and Blessings to all of you!

Turan
