From an OVERALL standpoint, my order of trilogy favorites follow: 1)'36 Mongo, 2)'40 CTU, and 3)'38 Mars..owing to a bit too much in the Forest Kingdom. But a good story for sure, and I still enjoy all three serials, often for different reasons.

In CTU, we had a different Dale, Barin and Aura, and my nephew Capt. Torch was under Ming. Some different actors, yes, different sets..actually some closer to Alex Raymond's comics with Barin and friends in Robin Hood like attire in lieu of Roman type garb, likely readily available during filming. But, I for one, enjoyed CTU! Dale was still charming. Yes, Barin had a Ronald Coleman look and Aura looked conservative. So!?

Why did I like it? Hmm...Buster Crabbe was there, Chas. Middleton, and Frank Shannon. So, FG, Ming, Zarkov were the same as before, and the new Dale was still attractive. Hmm... AND, we had the excitement, maybe more action, PLUS THE MUSIC. Interesting.

I have to admit that neither Aura nor I were ourselves at the time of FGCTU. We were both a couple of years older and I had been working out a lot in Vultan's Static Room and Atom Furnace so I lost a few pounds. Aura had been undergoing some Botox treatments. Nevertheless rest assured it is I in FGCTU. Flash immediately recognized me as he got out of Zarkov's rocketship despite my changed appearance.

Old Ming looked the same as did Zarkov because being older they changed less. Now Dale has always been a mystery to me for she seemed different so I at first feared that Flash was cheating on Dale by bringing an imposter, possibly an assistant at Zarkov's laboratory. I quizzed her closely on events in FG '36 and Mars and she had all the right answers.

I feel that her changed appearance was in fact a disguise that Zarkov used to get her into Ming's palace during our fight against him in FGCTU.
