Subject: Flash Gordon's most perilous moments in the trilogy

A good idea is to recap the most dangerous situations Flash and his party dealt with in the trilogy.

I always return to "Mars" and the episode where Flash is put into the Disintegration Room. The tension and peril rise to truly dramatic levels due to

1)Zandar being told to, "Cut into the reserve generators" to fry Flash. Then
2)In a demonstration of the ray's power the Oracite figure "..made from the hardest metal on Mars" is reduced to dust by the disintegration ray. Then
2)Barin and Zarkov attempt to rescue Flash but they themselves come under attack from an Electro Gun. Then
3)They fall into the Disintegration Room and are struck by the ray.
4)Finally Flash himself is struck by the ray and is obviously wounded.

All this happens against a background of great FG music. I loved it as a kid and still do!

Footnote: However, this IS a bit of a "cheat" episode ending as Flash in the following episode is NOT hit. Still not as bad as the ultimate "cheat" episode in Buck Rogers with Buddy hit with a ray gun and in the next episode he jumps unhurt through a window and isn't hit.

Zarkov is hit by the disintegration ray, but survives it. You can see he is going through little spells of pain and is shaking for a time.
