Subject: FG: Forum Guidelines and FYI for all readers

Getting to these formalities, here they are.


I don't set any rules or regulations. I've seen other sites suffer and have setbacks from them. Just be respectable and nice. If you're having a bad day--please let us know, but don't get too grouchy!!


Freedom of choice prevails in any discussion and in everything we do in life. There will be no solicitating and promoting of any non-FG related material at the forum, with all due respects. Spam and non-related FG posts will be subject to removal from less than honorable parties. I will list the subject matters for discussions here.


1.) I'd like the discussions to be diverse but not limited to Buster Crabbe. Feel free to discuss the Universal serials, feature films, Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, the characters, stories, the music, or any tie-in you can relate to. Whatever interests you. Ex; Audio CD collections of classic pieces and soundtracks that pertain to Flash Gordon.


2.) The tracked music used in the Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers serials are what makes this web site exclusive. Feel free to discuss anything about that here.


3.) Any insights, reviews, commentary and opinions on Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers are welcome. Insights are welcome on how closely the screenplays followed Raymond's comic strip for the serials. Ex; can someone tell me how closely the writers stuck to Raymond's 1939 strip for Flash Gordon Conquers the Universe? Characters in the 1940 film vs the characters in the strip? I know about Fria and some things about Sonja, but what about the others?


4.) Feel free to discuss other classic serials you enjoyed that rode on the airwaves with Flash Gordon and Buck Rogers. How would you rate Rebublic's serials next to Universal's for example?


5.) Serial and actor trivia, nostalgia, goofs, flubs, rocksetships, cast members, Ming's palace maidens and potions, 50's and 60's memories and beyond, collecting the video editions of the serials, or any other collectables.


6.) Feel free to discuss Universal's horror, drama and mystery films here. That's where most all the music came from heard in the serial films.


7.) Crossing over with a certain actor's film projects is fine with me. Ex; Buster goes to work on "Jungle Man" with Charles Middleton in 1941. Pre-FG and post-FG projects the actors worked is up for discussion here.


8.) Crossing over to Star Wars is perfectly fine with me. I even have a Voy forum on the FG Forum page of the site for DVD discussion of the Star Wars films. Any discussions could be carried over there or discussed here. That's up to you. Star Trek-related themes are okay, too.

After discussions with Flash, Dr.Zarkov, Dale Arden, the Clay King and especially Happy Hapgood, we view these guidelines as entirely reasonable to any loyal Flash Gordon warrior. Only a fiend such as Ming could possibly object to any of the above, but we must remember that Ming is bent on the complete destruction of the universe.
We will uphold these guidelines no matter where on Mongo, Mars or earth that our decades-long battle with Ming takes us.
