(He had gone to great lengths that day to create the perfect evening for them, even ordering their meal from a little restaurant he called "Remy's Mom" - Kate, who was the well known cook among the families, had taken pity on him and offered to prepare dinner the night before.. all he had had to do was heat it up and serve it. He had dragged the glass table out onto the balcony and adorned it with a vase of white and red roses before laying out the better dishes and silverware they had and a couple of tall candles that made the table look more romantic. He had put a bottle of champagne on ice and left the pan of parmesan chicken heating in the oven when he went to pick her up. He was exactly five minutes early when he stepped up to her door and knocked, checking the collar of the black button down shirt he was wearing with a pair of slacks and a pair of black leather shoes. He looked like he could be a gangster with his shaggy dark hair and rakish expression, but beneath the dangerously appearling exterior he was the same lovable Kyrian.)

Instead, she just smoothed her jacket and walked to the door, calming opening it and flashing him a smile -- and it was only slightly bashful -- before ushering him in for a moment.
