Cragsmoor’s Stone Church Welcomes Dr. James A. Forbes, Jr.
On Sunday, May 30, 2010, at 11:00 p.m., Cragsmoor’s historic Stone Church will host in its pulpit one of the outstanding preachers of our time. The Rev. Dr. James A. Forbes, Jr., Senior Minister Emeritus of The Riverside Church in the City of New York, was named by Newsweek magazine as one of the “most effective preachers” in the English-speaking world.
Currently President and Founder of the Healing of the Nations Foundation, Dr. Forbes is also the author of the recently published Whose Gospel? A Concise Guide to Progressive Protestantism.
Dr. Forbes actively preaches in the most celebrated churches in the United States. On Mother’s Day this year (May 9), he was the guest preacher at the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. The full breadth of his activities may be seen on his foundation’s website, www.healingofthenations.com.
Cragsmoor’s Stone Church, also known as the Chapel of the Holy Name, occupies an unequaled site overlooking the Rondout Valley and the Catskills.
