Paraphrasing Joe Biden who said about Giuliani that his entire primary campaign could be summarized in 3 words: "A noun, a verb and 9/11," one can say McCain's presidential campaign can be summarized in 4 words: "A noun, a verb and Hanoi Hilton." In his one-on-one with Rick Warren, McCain reminded us 2 or 3 times of his suffering in the Hanoi Hilton, once describing in detail one of the tortures that had been inflicted on him. That the description was out of context made no difference.

There were 100s of American POWs that endured much worse in Japan in WW II and who did not use their suffering for a career in politics.
