Subject: Sorry to see this page has gone to Hell with spam. My husband died suddenly in September, so I haven't been here in a while.

I guess I will just leave this page up to pay homage to our original home at Rick's place. I hope more people will post but since AMC is gone for good, I guess that won't be happening.

After 40 years with someone, it is hard to get used to being alone. All the shared memories and occasions just don't matter anymore. They are gone and you are the only one left to remember. Sometimes I hated his guts and wanted to run as far away as I could. But I knew he was always there to take care of me. To take care of everything. It's hard being a grown up when you have been with someone since you were 16.

I had known her since I was 2 years old. She got pneumonia because of Sandy and never really recovered. I am still in shock over it all. I don't know if I can ever get over losing them both in such a short space of time. I blame the stress from Sandy and all that happened because of it, for my husband's death too. So much stress. He had so looked forward to his retirement and only had a few months to enjoy it before the storm hit. I have to learn how to go on but it hasn't been easy. The holidays are especially hard and I have been so depressed. I don't even want to face Christmas. Thanksgiving was hard enough.

Hugs, Dolly - I'm sure it's very hard. In '08 I unexpectedly lost my parents 19 days apart so in a way I can relate. It takes time...my thoughts are with you.
