The element has little or nothing to do with all of this when it comes right down to it. It's only one part of the problem. There are lies in signs on the bridge and people are believing them. The trees are gone and won't be back for many years now. The boards walks that are installed are laying on steel beams that are hardly in the line of wild or natural. I wonder when they'll start to rust and where the rust will wash away to. In the river? And there's a lot of money that's represented with all the destruction. And a lot more money in what will probably follow. And all that money is from the pockets of the taxpayers and not even just from the taxpayers who live along the river! I just can't see HOW the city of NY and the Parks Dept. got away with this? Just to throw out anybody and everybody who WAS there and do what they damn well wanted. Smacks of the way the American Indian disappeared from the river in the first place. Somebody who had no past interest in the land came, saw, threw out eerybody who was there and rearranged everything to suit what THEY wanted. NYC keeps doing this and the everybody just sits there and watches. WTF is that all about?
