Subject: Summer on The Bronx River

How nice, to return to the River this year. But how terribly hot and humid it's been, conisdering the absence of vegetation (trees). But it's a bit of a comfort to see that SOME of the "old" River still survives: there are still remnants of places to sit, still some turtles (though I've yet to see fish), new faces of the people who used to be along the banks (mentioned "elements" included, I must admit), and if we look caregully, there are still a few of the old trees left... even though there are more old willows gone missing. Well, there are those who insisted that bringing people to The River would be good. The season has come to prove whether or not they were right. Let's see what damage comes to The River this year... let's see who respects it... let's see who... In any and all cases, I'll be watching.

Let's all go down to The River... and then come back here to report. What say?
