Subject: Hands beauty care your nails. (gdeh457)

Author:

Apply hand lotion and begin to massage the palm of your hand with the thumb of your other hand. This will help to circulate the blood. Work your way over the remainder of the hand and then repeat giving equal time to the other hand. Before color is applied to nails, they must be cleaned and the easiest way to do this is with an orange stick that has been wrapped with cotton. Dip into nail polish remover and then rub over the surface of the nail. Check the nail for any creamy residue. When none remains, your nails will be ready for polishing. Time for color. Pick up a small amount of polish on your brush and paint one stroke down the center of your nail. Your brush should hold just enough color to accomplish this. Stroke the sides of the nail and you are done. The nail should be completely colored in three strokes. Allow to set for a minute or so before applying the second coat. Wait until polish is set (dry to the touch) and then apply the top coat. Don't skip this step as it not only adds life to your manicure, it will protect your nails as well. Sanitize all of your equipment with alcohol and when they are dry, store them away until the next manicure. Nail Tips: Nail polish can be stored in the fridge. If your nail polish is too thick, try thinning with a polish thinner. To prevent the cap from sticking, coat it with a little Vaseline to prevent this from happening. visit: http://www.free-beauty-tips.com/

This is a really good game for Advanced Students that a colleague of mine taught me to do.

BACK TO THE BOARD
How to Play:
For this activity it is necessary to divide the class into 2-3 teams. One person from each team comes to the front of the class and sit with their backs facing the board. Then you write the vocabulary/ structure you want them to say on the board. The teams then try to get their team member to say the word on the board, without actually saying it. The first one to say it wins the point. It activates everyone and is exciting, even with unenthusiastic classes. It is also great to review phrasal verbs.
You can also use this game as a vocabulary review only, instead of a competition.
I hope this game may help you.

HELLO!! i would like to say that i like all of the activities in this forum and that this will be for a lot help when teaching students. Now you can have another activity for you...

*Materials List:

paper
scissors
glue
pencil
decorations

Instructions:

* Fold the paper in half.

* Draw two circles, one smaller than the other. Both should overlap the fold line and each other (see pattern).

* Cut along the dark line. But don't cut along the fold line.

* Cut out different types of decorations for your paper butterflies. The decorations could be circles, lines, triangles. Glue them on the butterfly's wings in patterns.

* Cut a thin piece of paper for each antennae. Scrap scissors along the paper to curl it.

* Butterfly wings have matching patterns. Use two layers of paper when cutting out decorations to make sure you have matching pieces for both wings.
Almost any colored paper can be used to make butterflies. The picture shows butterflies made from construction paper.

i hope you enjoy it!

With a lot of success, the students of sixth teaching program, class 2006 have finally made it. We have created a forum for educational puposes. The objective of this forum is to keep in mind that as long as the students feel comfortable, relaxed, and in an enjoyable atmosphere, learning will take place. And how are we going to be able to fulfill this incredible task? THROUGH GAMES. In my 14-year teaching experience I have encountered many different groups of students, all different. But one thing has been the common denominator, and that is that students feel less threaten and more secure when learning is an enjoyable experience. I hope that with this forum, not only the class of 2006 , but also many others who hear from us, will share experiences, games, and tips that will make learning fun.

time:

description:
*well I think that games in the classroom are really important for our students because, these can help them to create and improve their selfsteem. for example one activity that we as teachers may what to do could be before and after activities. for this we need 2 pictures one of a new car (for example) and one of an old car or a crash car; now you can tell your students to make a sentence using the 2 pictures and "before and after". for example we might have: this is carlos car before the crash. and with these we can have a lot of activities just by using 2 pictures.

area of application:
*grammar, spelling, language and many more depending in the way you applied it.

There are several activities to use in the classroom in order to make learning enjoyable and fun. One game I like to use, and I think is suitable for little kids is "Suns and Moons". It is very fun, and the material used is only your voice. The time can vary on how many times you want to do it. The area may be only for fun, but it can be applicable for grammar. The class must be divided in two teams. One team will be the Suns and the other one the Moons. One Sun must have a Moon partner. Both teams will make an Indian line. The partners must sit in the Indian line, but facing each other’s back. When the teacher yells "Suns", both teams must stand up, and the suns must chase their moons partners. When the teacher yells "Moons", both teams must stand up, and the suns must chase their moons partners. The ones caught must make a penitence which can be applicable in grammatical features.

Pamela
Letter Soup is a game where you will not need too much material (just some foamy letters and numbers), the time that you want and it will be usefulll for learning spelling meaningfully.
In this game the teacher will separate the class by rows and she/he will throw the foamy letters on the floor at the front of the class. The teacher will write a word in the board and when the teacher says "go" the first student of the row will have to run to the front and form the word with foamy letters. Then the student will have to pass the letters to the back of the row and the last student of the row will have to form it again. The row that finishes first will be the winner.

It's an excellent activity for students from primary level. This game is designed for practicing "shopping" dialogues and vocabulary.
The material that you will need is money (made by the teacher). At least you will need 10 minutes. The object of game to accumulate as many products as possible. Students are divided into clerks and shoppers. The clerks set up "stands" to allow easy access for all shoppers (e.g. around the outsides of the room with their backs to the wall). The shoppers are given a set amount of money (e.g. dollars, euros, etc.) and begin at a stand where there is an open space. Students shop, trying to accumulate as many items as possible (each item is 1 unit of currency). Periodically, the instructor will say "stop" (a bell or other device may be needed to attract attention in some cultural and classroom contexts) and call out a name of one of the products. Students with that product must then put ALL their products in a basket at the front of the room. The remaining students continue shopping. Students who had to dump their products must begin again from scratch (with fewer units of currency). The student with the most products at the end wins. Students then switch roles.
*It is recommended giving students as much money as possible since students who run out can no longer participate.
Now your students will learn by having a lot of fun.

Well this gameis just to have fun and to help students release all of their energy. In this game the teacher has to devide the class in two groups. Then ask them to make two lines according to the different groups. After doing this, the teacher has to give a ballon to the kids that are in the fist spotin the lines. And when the teacher says go! They have to pass the balloon and the group that passes the balloon faster until it gets to last kid, wins.

You can play this game with any level and the times you like.

In these few years of experience as a student teacher, I agree that students should be motivated and excited in order to have a meaningful learning. Why? Because they will be expecting your time to give time to give the class, and they will receive the class with joy.
One activity for motivating and learning at the same time: " Fly Swater".
Material:
- Content (perfect activity for nouns, pronouns, verbs)
-Flies drawn in a paper

*Materials:
sheets of paper.
pencil/pen/markers
photos/pictures
imagination

time: 10 or more

*Well with this game or activity you will give your students a sheet of paper and in this they have to draw what you as the teacher will dictate. For this activity depending on the level of your students you can improvise the dictation but for higer levels you need to have a backup, it can be as easy as a picture or a photograph. Also, another idea might be to ask the students to make groups and ask one of the students to make the dictation and if all the members of the group have similar or the same picture it means that the dictation technique was efficient.

*With this activity you can reinforce the listening area and also pronunciation, depending on the one you use.

It's an excellent activity for students from primary level. This game is designed for practicing "shopping" dialogues and vocabulary.
The material that you will need is money (made by the teacher). At least you will need 10 minutes. The object of the game is to accumulate as many products as possible.

After doing this, the teacher has to give a ballon to the kids that are in the fist spotin the lines. And when the teacher says go! They have to pass the balloon and the group that passes the balloon faster until it gets to last kid, wins.

Statue!!!
Sometimes our students are too tired, stressed, or sleepy. This is a good activity to cheer up the class. The only material needed is your own body. This is a variation of the normal “statue”. One important thing is that the teacher must not be shy. The time needed is the time you want to use. The teacher stands in the front of the classroom. The students must imitate all the things the teacher does. When the teacher wants she must yell STATUE!!! And the students have to freeze (even though they are on one leg, of on lying on the floor). The fist one moving must pass to the front to make penitence. This activity helped me when my students where sleepy, ant he most important thing is that: We all had fun!!!

TIME: 7-10
MATERIAL: Balloons, pieces of paper and a radio or cd player.

As you can see the materials used in this activity is very simple as the activity, and you'll see. This activity is like playing hot potate. but instead of using a ball or something you use a ballon with small pieces with an animals name, so the girl who keeps the ballon has to explote it and make the sound of the animal the balloon has.
have fun!

The second activity that I will introduce is called "popcorn". This activity is mostly used in reading class.
Materials:
-a little ball to throw
-Reading material

Procedure: the teacher will begin telling the story, she is going to stop, and she is going to say porcorn+the name of a student, so that student is going to continue reading. Then this students is going to say "popcorn + name of another student" she is going to throw the ball and the other student is going to continue reading and so on..

Why is this effective? Because it encourages students to read and by reding orally they are practicing sub-skills like spelling, pronunciation.

The materials that you need to have are: different color dot arts, paper, scissors and water. This is a nice activity for arts, but if you as teacher have a great imagination you can use it for any class. This is an activity in which the students need to cut a circle and after that they can start by decorating it with different colors of dot arts. Then, they have to fold the circle in small pieces. At the end, they will have a graffiti. This is a nice activity for kids that will take you only 10 minutes.

"Stop"
To start the game one player takes the ball. In that moment the rest of the players start running away from the one who has the ball.

When the one who has the ball says: "Stop there, Jenifer". (He has to name one of the players). The one named has to look for the ball, and once he has the ball he says "stop there" and everybody has to stop. The one who has the ball can give three steps to get nearer, to his closest partner, and throws him the ball.

Different things may happen:
• If he touches the person with the ball, that persons has a spot. Then he has to say “Stop” and continue the game.
• If he doesn’t touch the person with the ball, that person stays clean, and the one who throw the ball is called “spot” and has to throw the ball and continue the game.
• If one of the members got three spots is going to do a funny punishment.

I love this game! I used to play it when I was little and lived in the states. It is really fun!!

Divide the class in two teams.
Team 1 has the front yard and Team 2 has the back yard, or a field is split between the two teams. The teams are given a time period, like 5 minutes, to hide their flag in their part of the yard. During this period spies are sent out to see were the flag is hidden as well as look-outs to catch the spies.
When the flag is hidden you call out that you are finished. Then you simply try to get the other teams flag. If you get caught and tagged by the opponent on their territory you have to go to jail and could only be freed by a teammate who grabs you when your opponent isn't
looking. If you can´t hide the flag you can put in the middle at the end of your side of the fild and have a guard that looks after it. The first team to capture the flag wins. In most versions you haveto both get the flag, and bring it back to your side. This game is a totally different game at night in the woods!

Hello to everyone!!! I totally agree that games increases the students' motivation and that we should include them in our classes. Well here is a game that might help you with your students interaction. This game is called "Guess Who??" The material that you will need is recycled paper, masking tape, and a markers. Then you will have to write on the paper some personalities from movies, cartoons, etc. Then, you divided the class into two groups and you will give each student a paper, the ones you wrote. You have to tell them that they can not see the other teams words, they have to guess through questions. (you choose how many) Then they group that finishes first will be the winner. So, I really hope this game could be useful for you! Take care and have a nice day!!!! J3s$!

Hello! I think that all the activies from this forum are very nice. Therefore I would like to share another activity with you, and I know that it will be very useful.
In this activity you only needs your students and a lot o imagination. The time of the game would be from 10 to 30 minutes.
As we already know we have different students with different types of intelligences. Here we'll mention an activity for intrapersonal intelligences. It’s called “Freeze”. The teacher will choose a pair of students and she will give a theme, so they will have to start acting according to that theme and obviously improvising. At anytime the teacher will shout “Freeze” and the actors will freeze immediately. The teacher will touch the shoulder of one of the actors and he will sit down and another student will take his/her place. The new couple of actors will have to continue acting always improvising.

Prof. Carlos do not pay attention to the other message I posted. Grade this one. Thanks.

In this game you do not need any material just your group of kids. Have them all gather around in a cirlcle, choose one kid to be in the middle and be the twister. The child in the middle has to start spinning around as if he or she were a twister and tag someone. The person tagged has to run and not let the twister tag him or her again, and has to survive for 10 seconds. If that person is tagged in less than 10 seconds that person is the twister or if you want to involve some questions of a specific topic you may ask the person that got tagged and the person that is the twister a question and if one of them answers incorrectly that person is the twister.

This is a great game to review sets of words, such as colors, animals, fruit, numbers, clothing, etc. Ask your students to sit in a circle. Assign each student a word. Start with only two or three words, e.g. "apple", "banana" and "peach". Then the teacher stands in the middle and calls out one of the words, e.g. Banana! All the students with that word get up and run to exchange places in the circle. At the same time, the teacher runs to take a seat, so that one student is left standing. Then that student stands in the middle, calls out one of the words and tries to take a seat as the other students run to change places. Once in a while, the person in the middle calls out Fruit basket! Then everyone in the circle runs to change places.
This is a great game, just for having fun and at the same time practicing food!!
