Welcome ladies and gentlemen to the 1st annual, Winner's Circle Preakness Stakes! We come apon the saddling paddock with an unbelievable seventeen horses! These spectacular-looking colts and fillies are spread on the green grass, getting saddled up and checked over for a last time before the race. As we scan the field we see a wide array of colored silks. We zoom in on the favorite, Charismatic, a brilliant chestnut, Thoroughbred stallion. Charismatic seems top of his game today, and should put forth an excellent effort! Aside them is Sleep Shadow's second entry, Madaline, the ONLY Appaloosa to run in the Preakness in Triple Crown history. She looks calm and collected, and ready to run! Behind him you see Secretariet, owned by Lara! This colt is looking great and should put an excellent performance in the days' running. Aside her you see Lara's other entrant, Man O' War. He is definately a fine looking colt, he looks like he will run his best!! Both owned by Kris, Perfect Image and Cause Of Concern both look to be two of the horses to look out for! Both dressed in their Burgundy with black & gold striped silks, the jockey's look ready to conquer, yet according to the spectators, Cause Of Concern doesn't seem much of a threat! We next see, To Live A Lie. This colt proved everyone wrong in the Kentucky Derby, putting forth an excellent race! Skye seems to think he may pull an upset in today's race! Next to the Thoroughbred stallion is his barnmate, and opponent, Lyter Aire, also owned by Skye. Lyter Aire put an excellent workout today with the fastest time and seems to show his stuff! We scope out the next horse and see a bright black Thoroughbred filly. Ruffian, owned by April was on the pace today and really putting her all on the track with the fifth fastest work-out time out of the whole field this morning. This Kentucky Derby winner is definately one to look out for today! Aside Ruffian is April's other entrant, Cimmon. He set a great place for himself in this morning's workouts coming yin third. He looks very cool, and according to the crowd, is expected to come out on top! As we move up the rail line we see, Perstaa Puro. Owned by Kitty, she is a gorgeous looking filly, yet coming fifteenth in the morning workouts didn't seem to be a problem, owner, Kitty seems to think she's saving it for the race! Next to her is her opponent and fellow companion, Imortal God. Also owned by Kitty, he seems very hyper now, prancing and tossing his head, he may be burning some steam though, everyone seems to think. A gorgous black Arabian catches your eyes and you soon realize it is The Black Stallion, a gorgeous black Arabian colt. He is prancing and seems to be ready to run! His fellow barnmate, Ziyadah, also owned by Jockey Gurl stands beside him. This brilliant palomino Arabian put an excellent performance in the workouts and Kentucky Derby and should pur forth an excellent performance! The next horse we zoom in on is Star. Star is a brilliant Thoroughbred mare that the crowd think will put in a good race today! Owned and trained by, Hilary this mare is one to look out for!!! The last two horses we see in the paddock are Leo Ladd and Halashay Princess. Halashay Princess is the daughter and opponent to Leo Ladd. Both owned by Cami they seem well ready for this race! As the saddling paddock officals signal to the trainers to get the jockeys to mount up you see a swerve of colored silks wave through the paddock...

It is now time for the horses to load into the gates! All the horses are led by their pony horses to the starting gates. Cimmon is first to go and shows wonderful manners by proceeding willingly into the number one slot. As does Madaline, Ruffian and The Black Stallion, yet the number five horse is giving the gate officals some diffictulties. As we focus in on the confusion we see the gate officals and pony rider trying to push the Quarterhorse stallion, Leo Ladd into the gate. After refusing to budge, they try a new approach. The stallion still refuses to budge and rears up, his jockey being flung from the saddle. Fortunately everyone is fine and the jockey mounts back up. After trying again he reluctantly goes in. Luckily to the gate officals Perstaa Puro, Perfect Image, Secretariet and Ziyadah enter quickly and easily. Unfortunately, Imortal God gives the officals trouble, after loading in nicely, he rears in the shoot, the jockey almost falling off. After setting down they move down the line, Cause Of Concern, Man O' War, Star, Charismatic, Lyter Aire, Halashay Princess and To Live A Lie load in wonderfully! The suspension hits the spectators and they fall silent, a rush of anxiouty falls apon everyone when finally the the bell rings and the gates fly open. Seventeen spectacular stallions, colts and fillies surge onto the dirt track. As expected, Charismatic settles by the rail in first, followed by Lyter Aire, Star and Perfect Image battling for 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Back in the middle of the pack are Perstaa Puro, Cimmon, Secretariat, Man O' War, Imortal God, Ruffian and To Live A Lie, at the back we see Halashay Princess, The Black Stallion, Leo Ladd, Madaline and Ziyadah. As they head into the backstretch they are galloping at a moderate pace, Charismatic still holding the lead, Perfect Image, Star and Lyter Aire in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. As they head into the clubhouse turn all the horses have a sudden surge, Now Secretariet, Ruffian, The Black Stallion and Ziyadah make their moves on the outside, they are coming up fast as they head into the final stretch. Yet powering on the inside is To Live A Lie! Yes folks! "The horse that couldn't" is shooting up a like a bullet! Yet this race is not over! Madaline, Cimmon and Imortal God try to make their moves as well, yet are boxed in by Perfect Image, Cause Of Concern and Ziyadah! Looks like they have no where to go! Star pulls up to Perfect Image's flank and begins to pull up until they are neck and neck, yet Perfect Image pulls ahead. As they near the wire it's Ruffian, To Live A Lie, Secretariet, Charismatic and The Black Stallion battling for first! Ruffian finds another gear as she pulls ahead by one, now two, now three lengths! As they flash under the wire it's Ruffian ahead by five lengths, The Black Stallion, Secretariet and To Live A Lie back in 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Charismatic is back in fifth, Ziyadah passes the wire in 6th, followed by Cause Of Concern, Perfect Image, Man O' War, Perstaa Puro and Madaline back in 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th! Behind the pack in 13th, 14th, 15th, 16th and 17th place are Leo Ladd, Halashay Princess, Lyter Aire, Imortal God and Cimmon. Ladies and gentlemen, I am proud to announce the 2001 Kentucky Derby winner, Ruffian! And it's a photo finish for 2nd, 3rd and 4th! We await the results to the photo finish! As the results to the photo finish come, 2nd place is awardes to The Black Stallion. Back by the hair of his nose is Secretariet in 3rd, and To Live A Lie in 4th! This colt may be turning himself around! Let's meet out 2001 Preakness Stakes Winner, Ruffian in the winner's circle...

Here we see the ever-deserving black Thoroughbred filly, Ruffian standing proudly aside her owner and jockey, April in the winner's circle, a blanket of yellow and black roses drape her sweaty shoulder. As they line up for the photo, the jockey goes to weigh in. They replace the sweaty saddle with a new one and the cleaned-up jockey mounts back up. They snap a few photos for the Winner's Circle times. The jockey then dis-mounts again and goes to change. April leads Ruffian away to get cooled off. Ladies and gentlemen, we may be looking at our first Triple Crown Winner! What a filly!!
