IDA HOO

Has ANYBODY in Newburgh EVER taken a quick moment to read the mission statement of the IDA & then maybe even taken a moment to actually think about it? So that said, here's the statement. After you've read it answer the following questions. (Extra credit for not being sarcastic since it'll be really difficult to avoid.)

Mission Statement Newburgh IDA:
IDA City of Newburgh

"The mission of the City of Newburgh Industrial Development Agency is to advance job opportunities, health, general prosperity, and the economic welfare of the people of the City of Newburgh and to improve its recreational opportunities, prosperity, and standard of living, through the promotion, development, encouragement, and assistance of industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, commercial, research, green technologies, and recreation facilities, educational or cultural facilities, health care facilities, and continuing care retirement communities, in the City of Newburgh..."

Questions:
1. How long has the IDA existed?
2. Looking around you, how has the IDA managed to provide you with a better life by fulfilling their promises.
3. How many of the IDA's claims do you see that have actually been made good?
4. What, if any actions have you taken to correct any failings of the IDA?
5. WHO is running the IDA?
6. Are you pleased with where Newburgh is today?
7. Where do you see Newburgh in the next 10 years?
