Subject: Vatter reaches new Heights

Let me begin by "formerly" thanking somebody else who noticed the game playing and dumbing down ploys of the NHA. Obviously the NHA is bright enough to know that anybody can write anything and push it into becoming law but nothing will be enforced. So they covered their assets very nicely. I love a great vagueness. The Heights is a last bastion of what is left of what this whole city used to be. It's not so big that it can't be saved. But the elements that have been allowed to grab it are shrewd enough to know that they can and have prevailed. Who are the NHA decision makers? I suspect they're the ones who benefit most from the impossibilty of enforcement so it's in their own best interest to make rules that won't hurt them. I can't believe that there isn't enough manpower to enforce the laws or rules covering such a small neighborhood. I can't believe that landlords and homeowners get away with letting their property deteriorate. But I'm even more afraid that this is ultimately going to lead to a lot of demolition eventually when too many so called nuisance buildings are allowed to rot away beyond repair. How did this happen? I see it as more status quo and selfish apathy. How about starting with owner residence? You own it, you live in it.
