When the brunt of burden lies on the shoulders of a relatively few actual taxpayers it's very hard to have any more social responsibility. So if anybody around here thinks that anybody has the time or inclination to volunteer for civil or social services I'm afraid they'll be terribly disappointed when their house is burglarized and then burns to the ground.

We're all already crushed under new taxes and I'd very much like to know how our City Clownery can show their faces without shame or fear after mugging the legitimate population of this wasteland city and then pulling a stunt like trying to strip us of a major essential service: fire protection.

I'd very much like to know why the firefighters themselves are letting themselves be played for a bunch of buffoons here. It's very typical Newburgh to let the minority dictate and all others follow. City Circus decides and everybody just lets it go.

Who of us would agree to voluntarily give up a percentage of our salary and carry the burden of more work for our employer? Who would accept longer hours, more service, less pay?

It certainly does look suspicious all around and I'm on the list of those who would like to hear a word from the ones who are directly impacted by all of this. The silence makes me wonder.

By the way, in case anybody's interested, Archie's (Tecture) house is up for sale. Out of town broker.
