Preservation is to preserve, not change willy nilly.

Restoration is to bring back to a past state.

Our neighbors in Beacon, Kingston, Cold Spring and such have brought property values quite high by preserving and restoring their architecture. Harlem and parts of Brooklyn have seen astonishing success since retoration and preservation efforts began.

Painting an historic house in Ecuadorian pale blue is delightful if the house is in Ecuador. When I Googled Newburgh NY I was shocked to find it located in North America, in New York state. Can you imagine? Not even in a southern state of the U.S.

But as long as I lived in Newburgh I learned that if your boudoir performance is satisfactory the ARC will smile through the post coital cigarette smoke as they approve ANY request made to alter anything in this once charming and industrious town.

Obviously the rest of our government functions as well on the mattress. As it is said: Man was not given enough blood to supply both ends with sufficient oxygen at both ends simultaneously. In Newburgh blood stays too long at the wrong end.
