I understand DIY's frustration. Very few people keep their homes in good repair, cut their grass, remove trash from their property or sweep their sidewalk. I see childrens toys, empty food containers, car parts, old clothes and all sorts of things on peoples property when I go around. The very thought that this is how the owners want to live makes me sick. They keep property values down while our taxes go up. Plus now they expect the city to provide cleaning service because they're too lazy to maintain their property and refuse to be good citizens and neighbors? Fines should be imposed on the violators and the city should have the right to take those fines from any source of the violator's income including a reduction in their social services like Section 8 and food stamps. That's my thoughts.
