Subject: Another "Close to Harm" question/poll...

Since we had fun with the last one, I thought I'd try to make this a semi-regular post (i.e. whenever I think of something clever to ask! LOL).

This week's Question:

What has been DJE's best role, other than Harm? What role do you think has showcased his considerable talents the best? And why?

It could be dramatic, comic, or something else.

This is a hard one for me because I haven't seen as many of DJE's pre- or post-JAG work as some of the rest of you. So I'm going to go back to Christopher Paget in "Degree of Guilt" because he shows such a range of emotion and does it so well, plus, he gets to look hot in expensive suits, and flex his chops in the courtroom (where he excels as an actor).

Your turn!

[> IMHO--David was magnificent in "TMWLH". His dramatic scenes were stupendous and the general range of emotions were magnificent. It was difficult to pick just one role. -- Bernadette, 08:17:07 03/08/11 Tue [1]

[> I agree with Bernadette. That role was probably the most demanding role that he's ever done as an actor. In fact, I think that he should have received an award for that performance. However, I also loved him in "The Rainbow Tribe." He's always so good when playing opposite children. -- Lee, 09:51:19 03/08/11 Tue [1]

[> I have only seen 4 films , and the best of those is TMWLH , DJE'S performance was out of the top drawer- I was unable to record it, so hope it comes round again on one of the channels -- Denny uk, 14:20:23 03/08/11 Tue [1]

[> I know I'm in the minority but I liked him in Knights of Bloodsteel. I guess it is because it was so different from anything I had seen him do before. But I must agree that for his range of acting his best was in The Man Who Lost Himself. -- usmgrad, 14:57:47 03/08/11 Tue [1]

[> [> usmgrad---I loved him in KOB also. It was so different but I think when they told him to tone down the Scottish accent, he sometimes had it and it was completely missing in other scenes. Because of the time constraints, they could not reshoot the ones already with his great Scottish "burrh". I understand David was" NOT VERY HAPPY about the situation. -- Bernadette, 21:15:18 03/10/11 Thu [1]

[> I have two favorites--Holiday Affair and Dodson's Journey. I saw TMWLH, and although he was very good, the movie itself had too many holes and weak spots. Not liking the movie very much leads me to prefer him in other roles. -- Deemus, 17:42:01 03/08/11 Tue [1]

[> I've loved all the ones mentioned but my favourite for all the emotions and story is "DODSONS JOURNEY" my favourite scene was this so poignant Photobucket courtesy of for DJE fans. -- Michelle UK, 17:52:54 03/08/11 Tue [1]

[> I have to say that my favorite is The Rainbow Tribe, then Dad's Home. He is so natural with kids. I also love Dodson's Journey..again with kids Did not like TMWLH. DJE was very good in it, but I just didn't like the leading lady. -- Martian Barb, 20:43:05 03/08/11 Tue [1]

[> I thought David was really good in Dodson's Journey. he gave a poignant, yet subtle performance and I truly thought this movie would be a stepping stone to him venturing into meaty, dramatic movie (big screen) roles. After JAG, this remains my favorite. (PS -- I haven't seen him in all of his other stuff) -- mj, 15:22:25 03/09/11 Wed [1]
