I have a question, there are many small pageants like this where if there is an optional, and your child wins the optional, then your child don't place because they want to award everyone something. I know some do it fairly, and if the child deserves the one optional, which is photogenic, and deserves queen, then they would award the child both, but sometimes in this type of pageant, I think entering with just one optional may hurt the one who wins it, since photogenic would be judged first. Just a concern.

I would not enter photogenic. Say there are only 4 contestants in your child's age group, and you are the only one to enter that category. If they descide to make sure that each child in that group should get something then that will knock your child out of placement becuase they would have to give your child photogenic and them 1st thru 3rd to the other 3 girls and that's NOT fair to your dd. This is just my opnion thought.

There were about 45 total contestants. Went pretty smooth. Some categories had 6 or 8 and some had one or two. There was also a pageant in Metcalfe and Russell so I think that made a difference also.

what was the pageant in metcalfe?? I wish we would have had info. on it ahead of time. congrats to all of our friends at the pageants yesterday!!!

I have several friends and family in Metcalfe Co and none of them knew about a pageant there so they must have not advertised that much.
