::She lays down with difficulty, but sighs with happiness. She gently touches her round belly, smiling proudly::

::Hours later, a hoof emerges, followed closely by the next. The birth continues successfully, seamlessly. The exhausted mare whickers softly to the newborn filly and begins to dry her, softly repeating an old chant of wisdom. She lays her emerald beads on the filly's neck, the foal struggling momentarily with the new weight. The mare laughs quietly, and nudges the filly to stand. She finally collects her spindly legs beneath her, standing tall and proud like her mother::
