I am really glad you said that, because this confirms that I am not the only one who noticed a lack of information on the other cantidates/issues in many articles. In almost all of the other articles I read it mentioned only da Silva (and his scandals, etc.) which made it very difficult for me to get a clear persepctive on the Brazilian election (considering I didn't know anything about them). In a few it did not even mention the names of the other cantidates.

I understand that his scandal was "big news" so there would obviously be a great deal over news coverage, but that is what raised the question in me of, "If de Silva is such a bad cantidate, why is it lkely he will win again? There is no negative (or positive) news for any of the other cantidates, so why not vote for them?" But I see now, with the fact that there must be a runoff vote that many Brazilian citizens answered that for me.
