Subject: Brazilian Elections

Mr. Editor,

Reading the article I could notice that the facts here in Brazil are been realistically portrayed by foreigners, and this is somehow a relief. Thus, I would like to comment on some aspects.
Before Lula had taken office all right members feared Lula wouldn’t let investments happen the way they used to when Fernando Henrique (the previous president) had the power. But what happened was the contrary, Lula’s government was more alike any right president one could imagine. My point is: if Lula has acted just like right politicians being a labor candidate, things won’t be worse if he is our president again. Things are being said by people who believe his government was a shame because he has been corrupted, and that he betrayed Brazilian people who finally had given him a chance. But I figure that people forget what always happened in the congress, the innumerous scandals of corruption uncovered. I’m not telling that we should accept corruption. But the history has proved that there’s no left and right in Brazil anymore. And if we are to choose between two candidates considering possibilities or signs of corruption, we have no candidate at all.
