It's all about theatrics, folks. Even men wear make-up on television and in theater plays and even your favorite rock or rap artist may have some heavy make-up on in your favorite music video. Are the judges in a normal room one on one with the contestants looking at them 5 feet away to see their natural beauty? No! They're sitting 20 or more feet away in a dark auditorium while massive stage lights barrell down on our beautiful little kids and if you think your child won't disappear if you don't enhance her beauty with some bigger hair, darker eyelashes and heavier make-up, you're fooling yourself. It's not about fake, it's about what will make the judges see just how gorgeous our girls are without washing them out in the stage lights. Why do you think dresses with rhinestones compete better than plain dresses? It's a pageant and if you're going to compete in pageants, you have to have the right uniform just like with any other sport. If you don't like the rules of the sport, play something else.
