I tendto get very constipated from medications taken for asthma. Although married my mother looks over me when I get asthma attacks and that is when my medications are greatly increased followed by the severe constipation.
I have been on heavy steroids for the past week and mymother knows that I am constipated even tyhough I have not talked about it. She made mention this morning that "we will soon have to do something about your bowel problem". Up to know this has always meant multiple enemas but she said that she wants to try castor oil in cinnection with the enemas to get things cleaned out. She is a nurse and so was her mother and they both have given me enemas and at times her mother has helped her give me the enemas. This is not a pleasant experience when I am not feeling well as they tend to give high soapsuds enemas until they get clear results. Now with the castor ol beforehand I am very leery and I don't really want to take the castor oil.

I think that Sharonmeantthat she had to take the castoe oil orally. That can be unpleasant but it is effective and the enemas will also be effective.

Using castor oil a few hours before an enema makes a very good combination. You might find that after taking the CO and waiting until you start getting gurgling in your gut inserting a couple of glycerin suppositories and holding them as long as you can will also assist in moving things along. After the suppositories an enema or two will clear you out very comfortably. I've used this combination for many years when I get uncomfortable from eating too much protein for dieting.

I give my husband a dose of castor oil maybe 3 hours before his enema when I want to fully clean him out. He doesn't like the castor oil at all but grudgingly will take it because he knows that I will reward him manually when he is getting his soapy enema. I use a larger, penis-shaped nozzle for his enema and work it in his rectum in time with stroking his penis. I tease him the nozzle is longer, thicker and harder than his tiny penis. He cums quickly so he gets cleaned out front and rear. I also take castor oil occasionally but like to do my enema alone.

This morning I had my very first caster oil enema. I started with injecting a warmed up 2 oz solution of caster oil into my bottom using a douche bulb. Then I followed up with a regular water enema. I had boiled the water (and let it cool down) in order to purify it somewhat (if this helped). I was taken back from the immediate results of the caster oil enema. I was cleanout very quickly. Fortunately I wasn't too far away from the toilet when I had to very quickly sit down on the seat. Then I had a few soap suds enemas. Finally I had a couple plain water enemas. All in all, the process took me from 8am to 11am. It was certainly worth it!

I suffer from asthma also and take medication with a steroid. This causes constipation to the point that if I do not take something it feels like a brick is trying to pass. I usually take two Fleet Mineral oil enemas at night, and in the AM I take a mild soap suds enema followed by a clear water enema. I find that this method gives me complete relief. My physician advised me to take Ducolax tablets, but while they do a good job of cleaning you out, I get unbearable cramps from the laxative.

Castor oil and enemas go well together, for a thorough cleansing. I usually take 2 oz, with a little orange juice to mask the taste of the Castor Oil, about 2-3 hours before the enemas. The thing I like about Castor Oil is it's dependability in a dose that size. Once you take it, there is no question that you will get a visit from the potty fairy. For my system, it happens in about 3-4 hours like clockwork. It works almost as effecitvely on it's own, too. But I have more "return visits" without the enemas.
