Any time spent at a drag strip is the best.

When I was in high school, we used to caravan from Corpus to Alamo Dragway in San Antonio on Wednesday nights for Test-n-Tune, then back on the weekends to street race on Military Dr. Alamo Dragway ruled back then, aside from the bump about mid track on the oil pan killing return road. Too bad they shut it down in '05.

Corpus used to have drag races at Cabaniss Field, but it was a monthly thing, and the track conditions sucked hard for anyone under 13 seconds. No bite, whatsoever. They shut that shit down a few times for various reasons, then for good after 9/11 since it's a Naval Air training strip.

Temple Academy is a cool old track. I raced my old Civic there a couple times, and my old blue Dodge Diesel, and a few years ago in my '95 Mustang GT. Next year I'll be in a rod or I'll shoot myself.
