'27 Ford Coupe Body. In the 50's the roof was cut off and the car was powered by a 425 Nailhead...

So the body looks like a roadster, sort of. Solid metal, needs lower patch panels on body, doors are solid, no rot, but hinges need to be replaced, or reworked. Channelled with tubing about 6", which is how I got it. It needs maybe about $200 in patch panels for the lower cowl, lower quarters, below the decklid, and inner fender panels. The doors are 28-29 Model A truck doors I believe (same as 26-27 T Coupe, pretty much). Decklid is near perfect and opens & closes fine, no latch. I plasma cut the crappy homejob firewall and badly installed inner fender panels out with a plasma, but left meat there so it can be properly trimmed & massaged with new metal. The surface of the body is smooth as glass, no surface deformation at all, just really clean metal. I have some 28-29 Roadster windshield stanchions, and a 28-29 Roadster windshield frame, and stock T windshield frame, as well as a stock dash cut below the reveal.

Frame is a Model A, new '32 Front Crossmember welded in, Stock Model A Spring with some leaves removed, Dropped Model A Axle by HAMBer '296v8', New Perch Bolts, Shackles, & Welder Series Spring Plate. '42 Ford Juice Brakes in perfect condition, freshly rebuilt only need hoses, new hoop steering arm, Model A tie rod, needs lower arms bent to clear axle. Has '47 Ford Split Wishbones with new tie rod ends, bungs, & the mounts were welded into slotted sections of the frame rails. I have boxed only about a foot on each side of the front crossmember, and never finished the box job, but have some fresh 11ga steel for the job. Stock rear crossmember is nice and complete. Center crossmember was cut out. Will include a Gemmer Steering Box from a '48 Dodge PU that could be used, but I was planning to run a different box.

Rear end is a '58 Ford 9" Truck Rear with 3.70 ratio. Perfect condition, pulled from show quality driver 2 yrs ago. Includes E-brake, & drive shaft so the whole setup will be complete from the donor truck, just shorten the driveshaft.

Motor is C2AE 292 Y-Block V8. Fresh rebuild less than 5k miles. Thunderbird Steel Valve Covers, '57 Supercharged Heads, Rare Edmunds Aluminum 3x2 Intake with 3 Stromberg 97 Carbs in great shape, might need rebuild, might not, Original Eelco Linkage, Louvered Chrome Filters, New Header Flanges but no headers fabbed yet, NOS Hurst Front Motor Mount with new rubber biscuits. Complete & Ready to run.

Trans is 3-spd Manual Transmission, with truck-style bellhousing. Perfect Condition, from same truck as motor & rear. New clutch, maybe 3000 miles on it. All new fluid.

Wheels are 40's Ford 16" Steelies, with New Firestone Bias Ply Blackwall 5.00-16's up front, and matching 7.50-16's in the rear.

Seat is a '65 Mustang Fastback rear seat that fits perfectly in the car. Looks bad ass too. Upholstery is nice and looks to be original. I was going to cut the rear seat/floor pan section out of a friend's junker Mustang to make the seat fit snug on the floor as it did from the factory. That's the only 'new' part on the car.

This is a project vehicle. There is no rear suspension holding the rear end to the chassis. The front end is setup and completely rolling. I will include extra wishbones, springs, Y-Block engine parts, and other misc items I have set aside from this project including boxing plate material, windshield frames, nice bench seat, etc. This car was being built with the intent on making it a true period-perfect, era-correct hot rod, just as if it was built in 1959. Not a ratrodded piece of unsafe trash like you see all the time, but a real hot rod, just as if my grandfather would have built it when he was my age, using the parts that were available then.

What's left to do? Not much, but these are the major things left to be done...

-Finish out bodywork
-Box Frame (I have new 11ga strips ready to trim & weld)
-Setup Steering (Includes Rebuilt '48 Dodge Gemmer Box)
-Kick Up Rear & Add Suspension (Have "A" Rear Spring, '42 Front Spring, '47 Front Bones)
-Fab Motor Mounts on frame for Hurst Mount & Biscuit Rubbers
-Fab Trans Bellhousing Mount or crossmember-type setup
-Add Wiring, Lights, Radiator, Shorten Driveshaft, Fuel Tank & Lines, Gas & a Battery.
-Spin the tires til you throw up

Sell for $6,500 AS IS, PRICE FIRM. Or TRADE for a 30's-50's era running & driving 2dr car or pickup, plus cash difference my way. No junk, 4-doors, or major projects, but I don't mind something that needs a little TLC.

Will sell body only for $1000 cash.
