Subject: Coupster Progress...

While I'm awaiting the return of my dropped axle, and front end hardware, I decided I should start boxing the frame. I didn't get too far because I ran out of cut-off wheels, but I did get the front crossmember section boxed on 1 side.

First, I cleaned up the frame rail...


Next, I made a template from a box of my drink of choice...


Next, I made sure it fit and made some trimmings...


Then I transferred to some flat plate, and cut them out...


Next I made sure the new piece would fit before welding...


Tacked into place...


Welded in sections...


Allowed to cool, and fully welded...





Tomorrow will finish the other side, then on to the rest of the chassis.
