Subject: The 305

How to build a truck for no money... I traded the big-ass tires for a good 305 long block and traded my tired LT1 heads, an old ford alternator, a Chevy wheel and tire and a GM single wire alternator for a set of rebuilt 305 heads, roller lifters, keepers, push rods, valve covers and a pair of new headers. Here's a pic of the internal goodies all laid out, including the high-tech milk jug in which they came. Now I just need to clean them all up, Molly lube them and install everything as soon as I can afford the gasket set. Maybe I can trade some shit for that, too. All I'm lacking is the oil pan.

The new 305 basket case
