Subject: TurboChicken Update....

So in a previous posting, I said I had finally muffled the sumbitch....and after 10 days of driving, it is getting a pretty good tone....doesn't sound like a 4 banger! I have also tackled some of the bodywork....specifically grinding and filling all the patch panels and relocated hood blister....coming along pretty good! And finally, I tackled some of the rear end "shimmies" on acceleration and deceleration.....so I was missing a nut on one of my right axle u-clamps and the axle was actually shifting a bit....replaced the nut, centered the axle, replaced the shocks, fitted some modified late Chevy truck bump stops, and....Voila!....smooth, solid, and quiet...doesn't even seem to need a panhard bar or leaf spring replacement like I suspected....nor does the driveshaft rub when bottoming out....Cool! Taking her up to the panhandle on August 10th for my hometown's big car weekend....hopefully next year we will have some road worthy (road proven) cars to organize a cruise up there as a club....I would love to have family and acquantances (spelling?) get a load of us! It would be nice to let my hometown see that I'm not the only weirdo out there! Plus you would have the added benefit of hanging out with a former build member on Monster Garage....it's amazing what kind of celebrity status that holds there....if the poor bumpkins only knew! Yep...shotpulted my car building career close to the likes of Gene Winfield and George Barris....haven't you all noticed? I just chose to build hot rodded late model Mustangs! (read with sarcastic tone).....Later.
