So, Ross' Old Austin Cafe is a go! The only hitch is no beer/licker brought onto the premises (but a stocked cooler for the bands is OK, just doesn't want all the participants/spectators to cart in a lot of coolers). I, personally, don't have a problem with it....he does offer $2 pints on premise with no worries about the parking lot....I'm hoping he will offer the participants a little better deal....which will mean wristbands....we will finger it out. As Dart suggested earlier today....all we can do is advertise No BYO....but we can't enforce it.....Hopefully we can ask for some discretion from participants (I will probably have a cooler in my car...). As far as bands go............Johnny HootRock is in (although I may have to prostitute myself to Johnny Cat....I'll just keep my eyes shut.....or at least squint!).....The Grinding Wheels can't make it...(Dammit)...they will be in the studio.....Haven't heard from Turbo 350 yet. I am thinking of asking Sonny and the Starfires or maybe Chadd Thomas or the Nematoads....any other suggested bands? Pete's band?....or is that a little too loud? I was personally trying to lean toward rock/rockabilly. Anyway, I suggested to Ross that it would be a 1pm to 6pm event....we can show up earlier to park and stuff......I also guaranteed that we would personally cleanup afterwards, supply trash bags, and advertise the death out of it to benefit both his restaurant and us. That's about all I can think of right now....any other concerns and/or questions?
