Hi Guys, I have given it a lot of thought and Im going to take this website down. The PBR has got real nasty to some of my friends that I know have the PBR's best interest at heart. They no longer want any of us to use the "PBR" in any websites. Since Spire took over and Randy B is gone they are all about money and I refuse to promote them in any way..
Ill leave the site up for another week so everyone has a chance to see this post..

I sent Kris a email .. if she wants to keep the site its ok with me..

It seems as tho you are buckling down to them. You don't even have "PBR" in your title for the site. I say stand up to them and keep your site. They don't control it. You do. Give us fans a place to go and see what other fans think. I do know a lot of people are upset that only Brazilians are winning the events. Doesn't bother me. They are just great riders. I've renamed it Professional Brazilian Riders. I'll hang in til Chris retires. Then it won't be so important anymore.
What does anyone else think?

Talk about stirring the Pot! The PBR is doing it this time.. Their Poll this week is How do you feel about outburst from the cowboys?? Check it out on the front page of the www.PBRNOW.com website

This is my opinion.. please let us know how you feel.. We don't have to agree but we do have to be nice lol

IMO- Outbursts are understandable, as these are adrenaline-fueled athletes competing at the highest level.... It works both ways when a cowboy makes a ride and is happy, still adrenalin-fueled, he dances, does a back flip or does a little high 5 ... and don't get me wrong I love seeing it..BUT
when a cowboys buck's off and is mad at himself, still adrenaline-fueled.. he throws his helmet, throws his rope, punches something or says a bad word... IMO its the same thing.. The problem comes in when the cowboys personal space is invaded by the camera's.. We are missing the next bull-ride while they are chasing the mad cowboy down.. I have seen it happen with a number of cowboys

I have heard people say the cowboys are role models for young kids... well they may be but again IMO after the cowboys leave the arena they should be allowed to have their space and the kids wouldn't see it..

I agree Beckie..they need to stop following the guys down the halls. We not all agree with how they act from time to time but good grief, they are human. We all throw fits from time to time and not always in private. Stop filming the "outbursts" and so us some more rides!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andrea, your trade for McKennon works but not your trade for Wiley. To trade Wiley you would have to pick someone lower in the standing than him. You can pick another one of your subs to trade off though. Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi! Has anyone besides me been blocked from getting to the home page of this site? One of my anti virus programs (avast) won't let me on it all of a sudden. Says it is infected. I have heard both sides of the story on this. I just listened to the Brendon Clark Ustream show. He had Luke, Sean and McKennon on the show. McKennon is the only one that thought as I did..Would love to hear from you guys. I know change is what keeps the sport moving forward..

My view..I dont really mine the bonus rounds as they are being called, but I have a problem with them counting the points. If a cowboy rides his 1st rd. bull and gets a low score. He did his job right? Well if he BO or gets another low score in the 2nd rd he may not even get in the short on the 2nd night..Its real hard to keep up with who is in the lead
It may just take some time to work itself out But I think they need to make some adjustments.

I know the cowboys dont want to go against the PBR but we are not part of the PBR so I feel a true response can be given here..

I hate the new format, not fair at all to the bull riders in my mind. And what is this going to do to the race at the finals? I see it cause the world champ title to be decided before Columbus. Just don't like the direction the PBR is going right now.

Congrats to all. The downside for us was we live in S. Arizona so we didn't get to see Sundays telecast on NBC because of coverage of the shootings in Tucson. I haven't seen anything of any injuries to the riders. Sure hope they all stayed healthy.

We're back this year!! Happy New Year everybody! What do ya think of the "new" PBR telecast changes? I'd rather have Justin McKee any day over Ty in the booth. And I like Gaffney too.

We (my two sisters and I, including our families) always go to my mom and dads on Thanksgiving. The son-in-laws tease and laugh that this is the "one good meal" they get every year! Mom broke her ankle in October, so this year the meal was left to us three girls to cook. I told my mom that I was cooking the turkey and ham...of course..her next question was "do you even know how to cook a turkey?" My turkey and ham were very tasty and very good, i'm not so sure that my mom would admit this though! Now the son-in-laws are looking forward to Christmas eve at mom and dad's so they can have a "really good meal". Little do they know that us girls are cooking again and not my mom!!!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

My opinion is....this is why no other cowboy has ever challenged another. They catch way too much heck! What is your opinion????

Well...I completely understand why Renato did what he did. The judging has been horrible for the last several years. I'm sorry that Ryan had to be a causualty in all of it. Ryan handled the situation wonderfully though, didn't he? I'm very proud of him for that.

Although you could tell that Ryan was mad, I thought he handled him well. He was polite and very tactful. I was glad to read that he and Renato had settled their differences. The challenge button is exactly for what Renato used it for but i'm betting that there will never be another cowboy challenge a fellow rider.

The thing is the PBR should have never let it get to this.. It but the cowboys in a bad place.. The Judging has been bad for a long long time...but then again the Cowboys vote in the judges that go to the Finals..will be interesting to see which ones go this year.

LJ Jenkins Buckin on Lake Eufaula -- Jeannie, Tue, Sep 07 2010, 15:11:03 [1]

We went Friday and Saturday night to LJ Jenkins' Bucking on Lake Eufaula bull buckout. He had a nice turnout both nights, especially Saturday. The mutton busting started at 7:30 each night, always a great way to start any event. Mutton busting is big in Oklahoma...always alot of mutton busters. LJ put on a great event and we're looking forward to next year!!!

I think Ryan handled himself very well The judging has been off for a long time.. I think the guys should have gone to the board and complained.. This put the cowboys in a bad situation. I hope they(the Judges) don't hold it against Renato.

And YES.. WOY TO GO Charlie Ham.. we got to talk to him for a long time. He remembered us telling him that Austin called him that.. Austin told him "I don't say it like that anymore"..Sean said you were a little cowboy then but now you are a real Cowboy .then he gave Austin a high 5.

Well, it looks like I'm sliding further DOWN the list!!! LOL! Went to Tulsa Saturday and Sunday, so glad PBR is back in action! My 9 year old nephew thinks that JB Mauney is the only bullrider ever...he got his autograph and his picture with JB. He was so excited! I wonder if the bullriders know how happy they make people? Seriously..do you think they have any idea how much it means to the fans? Thank you JB for making my nephews year!!!

A run for the title brings notoriety ... and misperceptions



PUEBLO, Colo. (September 29, 2009) - Sometimes the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat are just seconds apart.

In Reno, Nev., J.B. Mauney went from one to the other and back within moments.

He�d just tumbled off Troubadour. The judges said too early, so he gambled $500 by pressing the replay button. The bet paid off ... he scored 90.5 points, and won his fourth Built Ford Tough Series event of 2009. With his arms raised in victory, it was Mauney�s most exhilarating moment of the weekend.

In the moments immediately afterward, the Mooresville, N.C., native gave two interviews � the first was broadcast in the arena with Brandon Bates, and the second was with Leah Garcia for the Versus telecast later that night. Though they were both short, he was understandably excited to have ridden his way to within 1,000 points of Kody Lostroh and the No. 1 spot in the world.

But that smile faded almost immediately. His sister Jessi gave him the news that his home had been burglarized in the early hours of the morning of that very day.

Among the items taken was his 2006 Challenger Tour Championship buckle.

In the middle of that raw emotional moment, Mauney knew he still had media obligations. There were two phone interviews that needed to be given, as well as on-site interviews with local and national press.

He could have opted out. It would have been understandable.

But that wasn�t Mauney�s reaction. When asked if he needed more time before talking, he replied simply, �No, that�s OK.�

He didn�t rush through the interviews by giving short answers, nor did he try cutting them short after just a few questions. Truth be told, he was as poised and professional as he�s ever been in his four-year professional career.

It was a stark contrast to the Mauney who has been portrayed in some venomous reader comments on PBR.com.

Some call him arrogant. Cocky. Others say he�s dismissive and uncaring when it comes to signing autographs or taking photos.

Those closest to him wonder whether the anonymous posters have actually met the man.

Just the other day, PBR Livestock Director Cody Lambert said that as a sports fan, he understands having your favorite athletes and teams and disliking others, especially when it comes to rivals.

But there was a hitch in Lambert�s voice when he said, �There are some people who really seem to hate him. How can they hate the kid? � He�s always been polite.�

Mauney has never been anything less than accommodating since debuting on the Built Ford Tough Series in 2006.

This past Friday, for example, he was asked to appear at a press conference in Arlington, Texas, to announce the 2010 Dickies Iron Cowboy Invitational at the new Cowboys Stadium. The appearance would drag out an already long cross-country flight from North Carolina to Southern California. He could have said no.

But he didn�t.

He didn�t, because even at 22 years of age, he knew that if PBR CEO Randy Bernard thought it was important to have one of the top riders present, then he had an obligation to be there.

He�s gone into several markets days early to promote the sport of bull riding and entice locals to experience the BFTS.

He�s visited children�s hospitals, and earlier this year, he and Cody Ford spent time with underprivileged children in New York City as part of the Garden of Dreams program.

Mauney isn�t alone. PBR athletes are all very involved with communities and causes from one coast to the other. That�s why it�s disconcerting to read that a young man like Mauney could be perceived as anything short of gracious, much less written off as a �jerk.�

Yes, the Top 40 riders in the world are required by the PBR to sign autographs after each BFTS event. No, not all 40 riders are always able to come out.

Some incur injuries that need to be dealt with. Depending on the market, some cities have more media requests than others, and event and round winners might have additional press obligations. At times, they�re requested to meet with sponsors or special guests.

And, yes, a rider could elect to skip out on the signing session for one reason or another at the expense of a $500 fine. But they all understand it winds up costing more than $500, because it affects perception.

No, Mauney didn�t sign autographs after winning in Reno, and no, it wasn�t for any of the reasons listed above. Instead, it was because of an extenuating circumstance of a personal nature�he had been robbed in the wee hours of the morning.

It takes a lot for a man to willingly choose to be a professional bull rider � arguably the most dangerous profession in the world � and when you add to that the personal hurdles of everyday life, one should begin to understand the unyielding stress riders are put through, especially when they�re in the running for a world title.

�I don�t think (anybody) understands about winning the world in bull riding unless you�ve experienced it,� said Chris Shivers, who�s won it twice (2000 and �03).

There�s no disrespect here.

These guys � Mauney included � are just living life, gearing up for the next ride and trying their damndest to win a world title � all while accommodating as many people and as many requests as possible.

The bottom line is this: Anyone can choose to root against Mauney or any other rider, for any number of reasons. But that doesn�t make him a bad person.

At the end of the day, J.B. Mauney is a pretty likeable guy.

I agree, J.B. is a good guy! He does have a certain amount of cockieness about him but that's part of bull riding. You've got to be very confident in your abilities or you'll fail. I sure hate to hear that some low-life coward broke into his house and stole his Rookie of Year buckle. Here's hoping that somewhere down the road that buckle surfaces and end up back with its rightful owner.

In this sport I think you better have confidence or you wont last long. There is so much pressure put on a young guy when they are riding well by the PBR and the fans.

The same thing happened to Justin McBride and I think he turned out pretty darn good! I hope JB is laughing at the stupid comments of some people

You can have your favorite rider without hating others. In most cases the person saying the mean things doesn't even know the rider..I would say to them...get to know them and I bet you would change your mind.


I AM a JB fan and would love for him to win the World but at the same time there are so many guys that I would love to see win as well.

I don't get when a person Loves one cowboy they think they have to Hate another.. All of these guys are young men trying to make a living. Sure they have different personalities.. It would be no FUN if we all had the same favorite!! JMO

Well I'm going to say that JB will take it. Because even if the 2 riders, in any bracket, don't stay on the bull, the longer time wins and JB usually is close enough.

Have to say I'm not really a big fan of these types of "promotions" that the PBR is getting into. We'll see where it all goes but I am a fan for watching a good bullriding event with 40 riders (even better if they would bring it back to 45 like it should be). Will have to see what the next guy has in store now that Randy is gone. Hope it's not one of those things where somebody has to start changing things just to put their own mark on. Like I said.. We'll see.
