There are very few places on Sanibel or Captiva where you HAVE to dress up. You certainly may do so, but will not feel out of place in shorts anywhere on either island.

Absolutely. Very nice place. It is a 2.25 mile boardwalk, so you may want a wheelchair, but I believe that the entire boardwalk is wheelchair accessible. Even better that Ding Darling, from a wildlife point of view.

Red tide is a bit unpredictible, but noseeums are not usually around that early.
